“Tentative plan”
These are some of Rand’s notes on the overall progression of the story, with indications of major personal and professional events in Howard Roark’s life and their timing. Included are some events that did not make it into the final story, such as an attempted bribe involving Roark, and the possibility of Roark’s working on a building in China. The overall progression of Roark and Dominique’s relationship is indicated, including her marriages to both Keating and Wynand.
Notable also is that Rand still titled this a “tentative” plan, and the climax of the story (a vital element in Rand’s view) was identified only with the generic designation of “crisis” on the second page. She did already know that whatever the “crisis” (climax) would be, it must be followed by a trial.
