Also on this page is a brief note about Roark and Ralston Holcombe’s initial interaction, in which “Roark asks him why must one copy the Parthenon. Holcombe answers: ‘Not the Parthenon. You’re quite right, Saint-Peter’s Cathedral’.” This touches on one way Rand used humor in The Fountainhead, a topic covered at more length by Robert Mayhew in his talk “‘Kill by Laughter’: Humor in The Fountainhead.”
