Dear Mr. Ford:

Thank you for your letter. I am glad that you found my philosophy helpful and that it has put you on the right road, if I judge by your letter.

I realize that you are an individual in your own right, not merely “Gerald Ford’s nephew,” but I cannot resist the temptation to tell you that I like your uncle very much, even though I do not agree with all of his policies. I hope he will run in the next presidential election—I would be happy to vote for him again.

Wishing you success in your profession and your philosophical development.

Cordially,

Ayn Rand
