Dear Mrs. Jones:
Thank you for the great compliment of your letter, not only as a compliment but for the understanding back of it.
It does mean a great deal to an author when a reader wants to read a book twice. I should, perhaps, apologize if my book kept you up till daylight, but I will do no such thing, because I am selfishly glad that it did.
I don’t know whether I shall be in Cincinnati or Dayton, but if I am I wish you would call me up—I would be very happy to meet you.
With deep appreciation of your good wishes,
Sincerely yours,
