Ned Chase (1919–2005) was editorial vice president at New American Library, which published most of AR’s books. He was the father of comic actor Chevy Chase.

You have good reason to be proud of these books. I think it is the most beautiful publishing job I have ever seen in paperback. I must mention the artist’s work on the covers, which is superb.
I have glanced through the copy and I find the handling of the footnote “translations” is excellent. I am happy to have these books, and I know that I will be able to read Shakespeare in English now.
