Dear Mimi:

I am enclosing the check for Docky, for the month of May.

You don’t have to send me the rent receipts, but I will expect to get Docky’s report cards. I hope she has started going to school. I feel sure her reports will be good, since she was in the school for exceptional children in Cleveland. Tell her for me that ability is the only important thing in the world, and the most wonderful one, and the only real human virtue. (This is her old aunt speaking.)

Let me know how she’s getting along.

Best regards from both of us,

Sincerely,
